Warlocks in World of Warcraft

by admin on January 25, 2012

Once upon a time in a World of Warcraft and in a land far, far, away, Warlocks frolicked and the Demons saw this and it was good. Warlocks acquire their spells through their association, and mastery of demonic forces. This is risky business due to the fact that the demon serving you today may be serving you ( for dinner tomorrow ). It is because of this spiritual tug of war that the Warlocks spells are so potently damaging. Some Warlock spells require soul shards as an integral component to their casting. Soul shards are obtained when a warlock by casting a drain soul spell on a target enemy, and the opponent dies while its soul is being drained.

Damage-over-time, or DOT spells are a rather deviant, as these spells inflict not only initial damage, but an amount of cumulative damage over the entire duration of the spells affect.

The Warlock curse spells enable them to weaken the defenses of am opponent, in different ways depending on the curse cast. This ability is beneficial in group play, as the warlock can weaken an opponent’s defenses in consideration of the kind of attack one of his group is able to deliver. In other words, a warlock casts Curse of the Elementals because another caster in his party is going to use a frost, fire, shadow, or arcane based spell, and Curse of the Elementals reduces the opponents resistance to those type spells. As a result, his fellow caster’s spells have a higher probability of success, and greater potential for damage.

No discussion of the Warlocks spells would be complete without mentioning the Warlock’s stones. These are particularly helpful spells as they provide the Warlock, or whom ever he/she chooses to bestow them on, the ability to heal, or even resurrect. All stone spells require soul shards to be employed.

The Warlock, perhaps due to their continued exposure to demons and demonic forces, is physically weak, and should always perform spells from the edge of the affect area. Armor limitations as well tend to encourage the intelligent Warlock to refrain from engaging in too much melee battle. The Warlock and his spells are a welcome addition to any party, and possess powers which should never be underestimated.
